For the 2017-2018 school year, current high school principal Otis Amy will become the assistant principal at Libby Elementary. Amy says he hopes the move will allow him to spend more time focusing on his ministerial career.

Amy said in a faculty meeting on Tuesday that he will remain at the high school into the summer, and that the administrators involved in the change will be meeting to help make the transition a smooth one.

Replacing Amy as next year’s high school principal will be current Baker Koonce principal Jason Harris, who previously served as an assistant principal at CHS.

Current Libby assistant principal Clarinda Collins will assume the role of Baker Koonce principal.

In a separate move, current junior high principal Mike Baysinger will move to the position of principal at PACE Academy, replacing Michele Little who plans to retire at the end of this school year.

Current CHS assistant principal Wade Watson will replace Baysinger as principal at Carthage Junior High.

There will be a hiring process at a later date for the resulting vacancy for assistant principal at CHS.
